Propionic acid produced and handled as a food ingredient is available for use in applications where a food-grade product is required. Food-grade propionic acid meets the specifications set forth in the Food and Chemicals Codex (FCC). It may be used as an antimicrobial or flavoring agent and complies with 21 CFR 184.1081. Food grade propionic acid is also available as a kosher product, produced under rabbinical supervision in full accordance with Jewish dietary law.
